For a period of time, I used ultraviolet lighting (Blacklight) to illuminate black objects like cameras. The objects themselves don't glow, but they refect the intense blues of a material that does. I wrap the blacklight with a polyester cloth that glows brilliantly. Another flourescent bulb covered with a red gel provided another light source that I could bring in close without the worry of heat from hot lights. A small strobe bank light provides the overall ambient color balance.
