"Remembering the Future"
A project for the Wrinkle2 Global QTVR shoot event on the day of the Spring Equinox: May 20,1988.

Flushing Meadow-Corona Park in Flushing, Queens NYC - Site of the 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs
that celebrated in its day, a global vision of the future.

The opening position of this QTVR movie faces South. You'll be gazing at US Steel Corp's Unisphere. It was built for the 1964 -1965 NY's World's Fair and opened to the public on April 22,1964. This magnificent monument remains as a famous icon. The Unisphere is 140' high with a diameter of 120'. It is made of stainless steel and weighs 700,000 pounds.

The Unisphere is "Dedicated to Man's aspirations towards Peace through mutual understanding and symbolizing his achievements in an expanding universe."

At the North position is a soaring bronze statue of man and woman entwined in flight with 3 birds. Entitled "Freedom of the Human Spirit" it is the work of artist Marshall Fredericks. It was installed at the 1964 World's Fair. Further off is the USTA National Tennis Center's Arthur Ash Tennis Stadium where the US Open Tennis matched are held.
